Family
Tree – here
is our extended family tree; as it contains personal information, it is
password-protected … family members, please email
to get the login details. Once you’ve correctly entered the password, it’s a
fairly straight-forward browsing system – first-time readers, look in the ‘surnames’ section, click on one, then follow
the Christian names until you reach the ‘tree’.
You’ll find in here many family surnames,
like Clark, Sunderland, Cook, Leonard, Fleming, Moores, Birch, Garland and so
on – not to mention Kimbangi, Clatworthy, Smith, or Lomax.
Note: this information is presented from that known; it is as complete and accurate as I know, but that’s not perfect. I am VERY happy to accept additions corrections … please allow at least three months after telling me of changes, before they appear on the website.
Anniversary Dates – click on any month, to see anniversaries for that month. These
are derived from the family tree, and include all members for whom I have the
“complete” date for birth, marriage or death (so if you’re not included, tell
me the exact dates missing!).
Place
names Index – this is a relatively new feature, and is still “under
development” .. completeness and accuracy problems remain, but it’s “getting
there”! The idea is to help you find all
family events in a given location.
Statistics – How has the average age of first
marriage, or the number of children, changed over time. Click here to see it. Use sensible precautions before drawing any
conclusions, though: for example, if the sample side is small, treat with great
caution; also, child counts and age at death for folk born relatively recently
will of necessity be distorted.
Links to other online Trees – click the following links
to similar sites holding family trees that overlap with this one; Boddingtons, Chris Birch … (tell me of any
other related links, and I’ll add them here).
Interesting Connections – family legend says that
the GARLANDS were descended from Oliver Cromwell, that Maria SWANN was related
to the real inventor of the
light-bulb, and that the BASSETTS are the same family as the “liquorice
allsort” people (they’re probably not, but they did come from Pontefract!).
Family Archive documents
–
a set of documents, letters or autobiographies of family members, with links to
other web-sites where discovered. Any family members with other documents
they’d like to contribute, please let me know – either email me a copy, or give
me a web-site to link to.
