This
is Bernard’s contribution. It is “in
development” !!
Many
people in “pub-style” arguments (where the loudest or most persistent voice wins!)
say that Christianity can’t be true because it doesn’t make sense. Miracles
can’t happen, Jesus couldn’t have been conceived supernaturally, or raised from
the dead. The idea of a loving God who “allows suffering” doesn’t hold up. This is my attempt to show that Christianity,
properly understood, makes “perfect sense”.
I
will be applying a certain amount of logic here (remember I’m a lapsed
mathematician!), so do email if there is something you find obscure, and I’ll
try to explain more clearly.
God … we have to start any
discussion with some assumption of what we’re talking about … in these web
pages by “God” I’m referring to
IF
such a God exists …
v What sort of “being” must God be? We’ll
deduce characteristics from logic – strangely(!) they come up with exactly the
sort of God described in the New Testament!
v How could such a God communicate with us?
v What sort of
relationship could such a God want with human beings?
v How could a human being “know” God, and with what
limitations?
v … more to come
IF
no such God exists …

Then
what is the purpose of life, and why not revert to the “law of the jungle”?

All
Christians, down the Centuries, have been deluded! But perhaps being deluded into showing love
and kindness to others is no bad thing!
What
are the answers to the main objections to the
Christian faith?
How
would someone explore Christianity in a logical way?
Can
I “prove” to you my faith?
