My Children

I think I will now turn to my children, as they were by this time growing up.

I think Mabel stayed at home until we moved to Teddington.

And Leonard got a situation at Ealing with some good Grocers; also he had a situation in North London, and so gained quite an experience, but he wanted to go to Canada; so I thought it was a passing phase in his life, and got him a place with a good firm of market gardeners, so that if he eventually went to Canada he would have some experience of land work, and have had a taste of the outdoor life. He went to Canada.

[148] Both Mabel and Nora found situations as domestic help while at Teddington, but as children they all went to school at Southall.
