If house-ownership is a hobby, we added one to our hobby list! The bungalow needed decorating, and I started with emulsion paint and learned how to use brushes and rollers. There was a slope for a garage, but no garage, so we got one and put it up; no easy job. The garden was “just as the builders had left it” (the previous owners had done nothing at all), so we started terracing it, digging up builders tins and milk bottles in the process.
