In presenting you with this book, we, the members and friends of Coleford Baptist Church wish to express our deep Christian love for you and your family and to show our appreciation of your dedicated service to the Church of Jesus Christ, through a life time of witness and work. We trust that the following pages will bring to mind some of the memorable events of your life’s work, and in those quieter moments of retirement (not too illusory we hope!) there will be times for recollection and rejoicing in many happy memories.

As we recall the story of your life we must at first admit that such a short biography can do little justice to your many fine achievements, but we trust that we have at least got the main points of your career, and apologise for any omissions or inaccuracies.
